FIG 1Add Subtask is the first item in the More menu.

01Add a subtask#

In a task, press S, or open the More menu and pick Add Subtask. Type a title and press Enter.

To make a task you already have into a subtask, type its key instead of a title, for example SUN-17, or pick Link Subtask from the More menu.

03Find the parent#

A subtask shows subtask of and the parent's key next to its own key. Click it to jump to the parent.

Good to know Subtasks don't have subtasks of their own. Keep it to one level so work stays easy to follow.

04Subtask or checklist?#

Use a checklist for quick steps one person ticks off. Use subtasks when a piece of work needs its own owner, status or dates.
