Field mapping
Mapping decides where each answer goes on the task the form creates: the title, the description, the priority, the dates and more.
01Maps to#
Each field has a Maps to setting:
| Short text | Task title or the description |
| Choice | Project, tags, priority, status, or the description |
| Date | Due date, start date, or the description |
| Everything else | The task description |
A field can also map to one of the board's custom properties of a matching type.
02Choices from the board#
When a Choice maps to the project, tags, priority or status, its options come from the board. Tick the ones to offer, and give each a public label if you like.
Tip Map one short text field to Task title, like What needs to change?. Without a title mapping, a task is named after the form and the first text answer, like Website requests: Fix the contact page.
